Fear is an Illusion

We have nothing to fear, but fear itself. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

Fear seems to be the feelings swirling around lately, as so many conversations have begun with “I am afraid that…”.

I am afraid that the “Rapture” is coming, I am not good enough, I am not strong enough, I am not attractive, I am not worthy, I am NOT etc… Then as we hang on to that phrase, it seems as if the snowball effect begins to unfold and it starts to roll down hill out of control to the point we are frozen.

Fear, is an illusion that is created from our ego. Ego’s main purpose is to survive, so it seems that encouraging weak thoughts of fear make it feel more powerful and less likely to die. Unfortunately we don’t need ego for anything other than its true purpose to remind us to eat, sleep and drink. After that it just creates messy illusions that are not real and have no business in our minds building up power.

So the next time you come face to face with a fear, the best approach it seems is to become aware of where it is coming from and if it is an Illusion you have created or is it TRUTH?

If if is true, you have nothing to fear but to address the situation as fact that you have proof of and move on, if it is an illusion being fueled by ego, ask ego to take a seat and set the illusion free so you can see the truth. Most often, patience (which ego does not like) is the best remedy.

There are two ways to live in LOVE and in FEAR….Chose LOVE.
